Texas is the largest state in the USA and has several populated cities. The warm weather, stunning landscape and proximity to the Gulf of Mexico make it a popular tourist spot. There are unlimited family-friendly centers, like museums, amusement parks, acres of outdoor areas and historical sites. Choosing only few spots in Texas can be challenging for the first time holidaymakers.

Dallas

The “Big D” is one of the popular spots for visitors visiting Texas as it has a several vacation attractions such as:

* Southfork: This Ewings’ fictional home is located only 40 minutes north from downtown and is a favorite tourist spot. Here, you can spot precious memorabilia from the popular TV drama show, which pays tribute to oil rich families. This site also had a gift shop, wonderful museum, and deli.

* Sixth Floor Museum, Dealey Plaza: This is the museum of the Texas School Book Depository and has grown to become one of the must see attractions of Dallas. Even if you were not born on November 22nd, 1963, this museum will tell you what happened on this date. Here, there is an official timeline that keeps track of happenings that took place until the public assassination of John F. Kennedy. You will also find a display of other fascinating details about how historians believe that Lee Harvey Oswald could fire that one fatal bullet from the corner window of the sixth-floor of the building. The museum exhibits details from Kennedy’s life, and mementos from his Dallas visit on that deadly day.

* The Cowboys Stadium: This is located in Arlington, outside Dallas, Texas. This is the new structure inside which Dallas Cowboys play. It offers tours for sports lovers from all round the globe every day. This shiny new stadium has retractable-roofing and also houses several gift shops and restaurants.
