Bali – What You Need to Know
About Bali
Bali, a province of Indonesia, has seen many ups and downs throughout its history. Seeing volcano eruptions, famines, diseases and wars, Bali has come out on top of what is now one of the South-east asia’s largest tourist attractions.
Outdoor Activities
With beaches in every direction you turn, Bali offers its visitors a plethora of sandy fun for the whole family. On a honeymoon? There are perfect activities for couples too!
Let’s take a look!
1. Surfing
If you are coming to catch a wave, Bali is the perfect place! Bali offers its visitors an almost year-round experience that allows for catching a great swell! Don’t have a surfboard? Not a problem! Check out any one of the surf stores along the coast to pick up the necessary gear for the trip. That way you won’t have to worry about storing you surfboard in the overhead compartment on the plane.
2. Diving and Snorkeling
For the couples in the area, nothing is as fun as taking a dive into the deep, blue sea. Organized tours offer the greatest return for your money, but you can also take a trip to the nearby island of Komodo and Sumbawa, two popular diving spots.
3. Waterskiing and Windsurfing
You won’t find a better place in the world to do these two activities. With crystal blue water and an average temperature around 80 degrees, you can come and bring out the water skis any time of the year. If you are a die-hard fan, make sure to check out Sanur, the most popular spot for these water sports!
Food for Thought
Looking to try some of the local food? Bali has a blend of different cultures that offer you the best food, some of which will be completely foreign to you! Make sure to check out the local markets in Bali for cheap, grown foods that are native to Bali. Some of the foreign food includes the wani, a white mango that is cherished by the local Balinese. Seafood is also very popular in Bali due to the easy access of water in the area.
Need to Know
Before you book your trip to Bali in one of the many available Bali tour package, its best to know when the best time to go is and what to expect when you get there.
The highly populated seasons on the island are from mid-December to mid-January, when the Christmas season is in full swing, and from July to August. The weather is perfect for vacation if you travel between May to September.
Make sure you have an updated passport with you and it is also recommended to get updated on your shots and vaccinations. Dengue fever has been reported recently in Bali, and that would really put a damper on your vacation.
If you are travelling from another country, it is best to locate your local country’s government building. They may be in the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta, but it is better to know just in case something were to happen.
