Suluban Cliff, Bali – What Is There to Love?
There are some things you might not love about visiting Suluban Cliff. It is located in the southernmost region of Bali and you have to travel the Jalan Bypass Nusa Dua if you want to get in. This is the only road leading into the Bukit area of Bali and it is almost always cluttered with traffic.
Once you are in the Bukit you won’t find driving around in your gas powered vehicle very convenient. Most visitors hop on rented motorbikes since the beaches and other attractions are often found down long dirt, remote roads. This form of transportation may not seem all that luxurious, but it is the favored way of going from the cliffs to the beaches, temples and other natural attractions.
Yet, the Bukit area continues to be one of the most beloved areas of Indonesia for surfers as well as travelers who can afford to stay wherever they like. People who could spend their vacation literally anywhere in the world routinely return to the busy Jalan Bypass to get to the exclusive beaches and cliffs of the Bukit.
What is it that these tourists love so much about the Bukit? What could you grow to love if you were to travel through the Bypass and enter the cliffs of this remote region of Bali?
The Beaches
Some of the best Bali beaches filled with stunning white sand are found in the Bukit region. They are a reasonable car ride-or motorbike ride if you really want to get into the swing of the region-away from the Suluban Cliff region. Visitors familiar with the region love the exclusivity that comes with hunting out beaches very few others will take the time to enjoy.
For instance, visitors staying in villas in the Suluban Cliffs can walk downhill for about 10 or 15 minutes and find themselves on the beautiful and highly secluded Suluban Beach. There aren’t many visitors each year to this beach, so it is a very relaxing, soothing experience compared to the popular beaches that get hit by throngs of surfers at particular times of the year.
The Surfers
Speaking of surfers, they are what many travelers to the Bukit love about the region. Those who enjoy catching waves that are challenging and adventurous flock to the hottest surfing spots in Bali and many of them happen to be right in the Bukit area. These beaches are different from the secluded beaches since they are overrun with thrill seekers at key times of the year.
If you don’t mind the crowds and like watching surfers brave bold waves, then these beaches could become a reason you love the Suluban Cliffs. At the end of the day you can leave the crowds and hide out in your secluded cliffs overlooking the ocean, trees, and Bali’s beautiful nature scenes.
Some of the most popular surfing spots in the Suluban area of Bukit are Padang Padang Beach and Uluwatu beach which is near the famous Uluwatu temple.
One last thing that could easily be a reason visitors love the Suluban Cliffs: pictures that make everyone jealous. You have not seen amazing vacation pictures until you have taken pictures of yourself and those you love on the stunning white sand beaches of the Bukit. You haven’t seen what nature pictures can really be until you snap shots from high above the beaches.
