Florence is a main city in the region of Toscana and a capital city of the province of Florence. In the period from 1865 to 1870, it is the capital of the Italian Kingdom. The city is situated on the banks of river Arno and its population is approximately 360,000 people. This place is considered the cradle of the West European Renaissance.

Today, Florence is a colorful city that got its name from the Romans and it is dated back to the first century. The blossom of the city begins in many aspects – art, culture and international trade since the 13th century and the most powerful days of Florence came in the 15th century, when the city is under the reign of the Medici family, this family ruled over the city until the 18th century.

The cathedral “Santa Maria del Fiore” or the so-called cathedral Duomo – is the biggest church in Florence. The cathedral Santa Croce – consecrated in 1381, which contains the tombs of Galileo, Michelangelo, Machiavelli and Rossini.
