Texas – The Lone Star State
Texas has been nicknamed the Lone Star State. The Lone Star is symbolic of the struggles of Texas against Mexico, and its victory. This Star has also become an integral part of the State Seal as well as the Texas State Flag. It’s the second largest state in the U.S. Like other states, Texas has a diverse topography ranging from swamp lands, to pine tree plantations, prairie land, coastal areas and forests.
NASA’s Johnson Space Center, Houston — One of the launch pads of NASA, this space center has earned the recognition of being the most popular spot for tourists wanting exposure to space technology. Various attractions at the center include the Astronaut Gallery, Blast off Gallery, Kids’ Space Place, and others. Several space camps are also organized by NASA at the center, in order to provide hands-on experience of astronomy, for kids.
San Antonio River Walk — This river walk can be enjoyed by adventure lovers as well as those who love. The river walk is located along the banks of the San Antonio River. It also includes La Villita historic district.
San Antonio Sea World — The Sea World aquariums and marine parks have earned the recognition of showcasing aquatic life in the most natural way, and this provides a memorable experience to all who visit it. Sea World has an array of water-related activities, water rides, a water park and interaction with sea creatures.
Texas State Capitol Complex — This monumental structure is known for its unique architecture. It was built in the 19th century and it has made a major contribution to the history of America. It’s based on one of the highest points in Austin, and has a beautiful view of the Colorado River. It’s taller that the National Capitol building by about 15 feet.
Texas State Aquarium — This aquarium houses an exotic collection of fish as well as offering various presentations and movies about aquatic life. Sea camps are also organized for children as this aquarium is one of the best learning grounds for them.
