Everyone who loves to travel loves the fact that there are many destinations around the world that are famous for their heritage and, of course, their tourist attractions. However, when one speaks of the United States alone, Chicago is the first city that comes to mind. After all, it is the largest among all the cities in the States and home to some of the most diverse communities in the world.

Anyone who hasn’t been to Chicago may ask what exactly makes it so beloved. For one, it is among the top largest urban cities in the world housing about 2.8 million residents in within its borders. It is currently the transportation and financial center of the western States. Each year, the city wows some 44.2 million visitors who always enjoy their stay, especially when they book in any of the hotels in downtown Chicago whose elaborate interiors and excellent architectural designs are known tourist spots themselves.

Chicago, also known as the Windy City, can be found northwest of Illinois and is famous for the excellent scenery created by its position between Lake Michigan and two other rivers. Of course, it was not christened with the title for nothing. This obviously originated from the city being literally windy due to its location near the river. With its weather charms, the city also enjoys the best of the four seasons of summers, winters, springs and falls. During summer it can rain but not for a long time while during springs and falls, low humidity can be observed.

This Illinois haven was founded by settlers who erected their buildings and structures along the city’s riverbanks, but towards the 19th century, a major fire wiped out at least a third of the city. Since then, beautiful architectural works have been created and Chicago has been known for its buildings which most find a beauty to behold. It actually set the stage for the steel-framed skyscrapers which are now very common tourist wonders all over the world. Today, the city’s construction industry is streamlined by a dynamic mix of high and low-rise buildings as well as homes right within the city.

While Chicago is known for its rich heritage and traditions, it can also be a modern nightlife zone for tourists who simply want to party till they drop. However, it remains very famous for its comedy troupes and classical music as well as modern bands which often come by to have concerts.
