What to Do in Oman
Traveling to an Eastern Country such as Oman may take your breath away. The city lights after hours are as beautiful as any city in the night. Whether you’re here on business or pleasure there are many ways to spend your time. One particularly fun item on anyone’s to do list is to visit the Bahla Fort. Made completely from sandstone this Fort was not always so beautiful. In the late 1980’s the Bahla Fort was in major disrepair. It is at this time the Fort was abducted into the World History Sites List. This list contained more History sites, but the Bahla Fort is the only one of its kind in Oman.
Visiting the capital city of Muscat can be an adventure and a pleasing trip. This strategically placed port within the Arabian peninsula offers an interesting take as its position much resembles a multilayered necklace. The ocean is to the North while the barren mountains are to the South, creating a wonderfully unique position for this modern day capital.
Nothing is more fun, than flying over Oman, the views from this lofty flight allow you to see the entire nation without being bogged down by traffic. Never before have you been able to get a better glimpse into the beauty of Oman. This is a high tourist attraction and one of the best offered in Oman.
Every beach lover should attempt to visit the Beaches of Shatti el-Qurm. Since Oman is open to the sea, waves roll into long romantic beaches, naturally formed by the shape of the country. Whether you are a diehard surf lover, or a beach enthusiast you should really make time to come to the long stretches of beach, you will be ultimately impressed.
Couples often seek a romantic place to talk about life and their new journey as man and wife. Most newlyweds or young couples in Oman have a wonderful place to go at night. The best place is the Enlightened Fountain, about half way between the old Mutrah and the newer Muscat. The ambiance of this area is nothing short of magical. It’s a place to ponder and find yourself again.
Other wonderful things to do in and around Slutante Oman is to take the desert road to Nizwa, once a capital of Oman. This journey requires a salon car, a basket of food and plenty of water. There you will be able to visit the fort of falj Daris. Many visitors to this area also stay to watch the animal auctions that take place in the early morning on Fridays. While traveling to Nizwa, you may also spot signs that say Birkat al Mauz – an ancient village, worth an hour or two of your time.
