Chillicothe, Ohio – See the Possibilities
Another weekend approaches us here in Chillicothe.
Some might say that there isn’t much to do in a small city of 23,000 (+/-). Ah, but that’s because you don’t live in Chillicothe Ohio. We have a plethora of activities throughout the year here in Chillicothe Ohio. June through late August there is the TECUMSEH outdoor drama. The PAINTS baseball team is the hometown favorite through the summer. The MAJESTIC Theater in downtown has great concerts and plays throughout the year. There’s fishing up at Ross Lake. Some people prefer just a leisure time of walking the Flood Wall. Soon the Bike Bridge will be open and a person can ride their bikes, jog or walk almost around the whole city. There is LABOR DAY Weekend when Easy Rider Rodeo rides into town and the surrounding area mushrooms with another 20,000 people. Throughout the year we have Gus Macker Basketball, Feast of the Flowering Moon, Art displays at the Pump House, and the list goes on and on.
Like any other city we have our favorite restaurant experiences. For those who want a one-of-a-kind eating Experience most of us have been to the dock on Water Street or Old Canal Smokehouse who battle out for the best food and experience on Water Street or Crosskeys Tavern just a few blocks away on Main Street. Then there’s other local favorites, Cardo’s on 2nd Street inside the old bank building, Grinder’s on North Paint Street, Rennick’s on South Paint Street, Jerry’s Pizza is a must, and there’s a whole bunch of the regular spots like Rooster’s, Friday’s, Max & Erma’s, Olive Garden…
There are churches of almost every denomination here to encourage you in your walk of faith.
There are parks to stroll or take some bread to feed the ducks or just enjoy the changing of the leaves in autumn or spring.
Maybe you’re into shopping: we’ve got Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Sam’s Club, Kohl’s, Elder Beerman, Penny’s, Sears, Hobby Lobby, Lowe’s, Menard’s, Central Center Hardware, Eastern Avenue Lumber, Carter Lumber, Auto Parts Stores, and enough of every other type of store to keep you busy shopping.
Chillicothe like any small city is a place where the past is meeting the 21st Century. Our downtown is on the verge of a revival and our historical heritage is anchored in history books. The GREAT SEAL OF OHIO is based on the horizon of Mount Logan as you gaze at it from ADENA MANSION both which is laid claim to here in Chillicothe, Ohio.
Chillicothe has what it takes to fill one’s time.
I know this may sound like one of those tourist brochures but I am hoping you’ll find that Chillicothe, Ohio is a place where you’d want to call your home too. Some weekend why not take the time to see the possibilities that are waiting for you here in Chillicothe Ohio. Come on over and catch the vision of possibilities.
