Idaho is one of the most beautiful states with a rugged mountainous topography. The terrain condition of the state makes it all more attractive for outbound tourists and trekking enthusiasts. Places to Visit in Idaho:

Atlanta
This is a small mining era town on the west side of the Sawtooths Mountains that was established in 1864. It is located at an approximate distance of 80 miles from Boise and is a bit remote for the more city loving people. But it has its own rustic charm. The approach road to this quaint town is a gravel one and there is very little local population on this site. The surrounding area has several natural hot springs and also features outstanding views of the Greylock Mountains and the Middle Fork of the Boise River.

Burgdorf Hot Springs
This place is home to hot springs and it is also a ghost town. It is surrounded by the Payette National Forest and one can see the remnants of cabins and an old hotel on a meadow on a part of private land. It is accessible in winter only by snowmobile or a cross-country ski. There are eighteen rustic cabins for rent in this town.

Balanced Rock
This huge natural wonder is located in the South of Buhl in the Salmon Falls Creek Canyon. The Balanced Rock is 48 feet tall and weighs nearly 40 tons. It has been carved by the wind and it balances precariously on a pedestal measuring only 3 feet by 17 inches.

Nampa Train Depot Museum
The historic Oregon Short Line Depot which was built in 1903 and now is converted into a museum. It showcases the timeline of Canyon County, Crescent Brewery and also the train history. There is also a museum shop which offers historical books from the local authors.

Alturas Lake
This lake is one among the many alpine lakes in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. It is one of the most beautiful places in the state. There is also a trail that follows Alturas Lake Creek right up to the lake on a forest service road.
