Five Free Things To Visit While Travelling The United Kingdom
Travelling in the United Kingdom can be a painfully expensive task, especially if you are not watching your budget closely enough. However, it doesn’t have to be all that bad. Here are some of the things that you can visit in the United Kingdom without spending a single dime from your account or pocket.
1: Somerset House
The very first location where you should embark to on your list of FREE visits is the Somerset House. The famous courtyard and large Georgian building will suffice in putting a sparkle in your eyes, but if that does ignite the thirst that you are looking for, maybe the following locations will:

· The small basement gallery
During the summer time, you can witness the dancing courtyard fountains, where their spontaneous sprouts of water gushing from the holes is enough to keep you staring at it for hours. In addition, the house’s catacombs are open for art, installations, and performances. The Somerset House also contains the Cortauld Gallery of paintings, but unfortunately, that is the only place where an entrance fee is supposed to be submitted.

2: The Scoop
Several of London’s museums and galleries can be visited free of charge but the same thing cannot be said for theatres and cinemas. However, you are in luck. For those of you have a penchant for drama, plays and everything that is related to acting on stage, then the Scoop is the perfect location where you and your drama connoisseurs should rendezvous at. During the summer time, the amphitheatre will be almost full every evening, thanks to live musical evenings, plays, film screenings and exercising classes. If your location happens to be in close proximity with this one, then head on down immediately and witness dramas and plays at its finest. That’s not all, after everything has been wrapped up, you would obviously want some nourishment to help you get back on track. Fortunately, a café is present near the Scoop to help you with just that.
3: Sir John Soane’s Museum
The architect of the Bank of England had a home that has now been turned into a museum. His collection of the finer things in life included furniture, paintings by Hogarth and the sarcophagus of Seti I. It might be small in terms of the space required for of a museum, but it is quite notorious for attracting visitors and tourists.

4: Ceremony of the Keys
An event has transpired every night, for the past 700 years, where the Yeoman Warders of the Tower of London have performed a ceremony called the Ceremony of the Keys. There was an unfortunate event, involving a bomb blast, which delayed the ceremony. However, beyond that, the ceremony takes place in time.

5: The British Museum
It would be heresy in the eyes of tourists if we left out something as spectacular as the British Museum. This particular museum’s reputation has inflated because of the elements present inside it. Marvelous spectacles such as the controversial Elgin Marbles, to the plethora of galleries containing artifacts from every corner of the world and belonging to every civilization known to man. That’s not all, the Enlightenment rooms located in the east wing of the museum are a treat for the eyes. Hovering above you is the glass roof that will present the perfect atmosphere for a tourist such as yourself.
