The Garden of the Gods is a 1300 acre rock garden run by the city which has become a very popular attraction in Colorado Springs. It is made up of giant red sandstone sculptures that have been formed over time by the forces of wind and rain. The park is home to a great diversity of wildlife. For example, you will see twisted junipers, many of which are over 1000 years old and a unique species of ant called the honey ant.
