Cambodia is one of the least explored Tourist locations in the Southeast Asia region. This is mainly due to the fact that the area was restricted for a long time. Over the past few years this location has slowly transformed into a likable tourist destination as it has numerous wonderful attractions, cultural and historical sites, and some of the best restaurants and hotels. Cambodia boasts of a number of unique attractions including the ancient temples, exotic sandy beaches, the dense virgin forest, rich culture and an amazing history. One of the top tourist attractions of this country is Angkor. It features an ancient temple referred to as the Angkor wat temple. The temple was well hidden in the forest and was later on discovered over 150 years ago. The Angkor Wat temples are so huge in that it takes a very long time to move from one temple to another. The Sihanoukville is another excellent location for tourists. This region is also referred to as the Kampong som and it features some of the best white sand beaches in the whole of Cambodia. Most high-end Hotel establishments are found close to the beaches and they offer some of the best cuisine and accommodation facilities.
The silver pagoda is another wonderful location for those interested in sightseeing as well as understanding the rich culture of Cambodians. It is located within the famous palace in Phnom Penh and basically features many statues of the Hindu god Buddha. Among the statues is a magnificent piece of art that is decorated using diamonds and emeralds. Most of these statues are known to have been made in the 17th century. The beauty of the silver pagoda does not end here as the inner walls are also a work of art. They are decorated with artistic murals depicting the Ramayana mythology. Another location famous for historical art forms is the Preah Vihear. There are numerous temples in this location all dedicated to the Hindu deity Shiva.
Besides the ancient ruins and the vegetation, Cambodia boasts of some rare types of wildlife. The Bokor national park is home to some of the endangered elephant and tiger species that are only found in these regions. From this park one is able to enjoy a number of scenic views.
