Holy House of Mercy

The Holy House of Mercy is also known by another name which is Santa Casa de Misericordia. This structure was first built by a charity organization located in Macau where the building was used as a girls’ orphanage. The building itself was also included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage buildings and today there is a small section that has been developed into a museum. The artifacts found in the Holy House of Mercy are among those that had been used during its early years. Most of the items in the museum are religious in nature.

Aside from the Holy House of Mercy, there are other interesting sights to see in Macau such as the A-Ma Temple where the pavilions are dedicated to different deities, the Mandarin House which is quite famous for its blend of eastern and western architecture and St. Lawrence’s Church which is one of the oldest churches to be found in Macau.
