The ocean is safe for swimming and the evening sunsets are breathtaking. The area surrounding the beach has been beautifully landscaped with families in mind and has plenty of grassy areas to throw a ball, BBQs to cook a meal on and trees under which to spread a picnic blanket. Kids are well catered for with high tech park equipment and shaded areas for escaping the sun. The beach lends itself to a range of activities including beach volleyball, beach cricket, throwing a Frisbee or just lying around, and the surf is generally ideal for body surfing and boogie boarding.

Water activities are a major part of the island’s attraction but there is also plenty more to see and do if you have the time. You can go fishing, to the movies, enjoy a delicious meal out or walk one of the island’s heritage trails to and learn about the island’s rich cultural history and abundant wildlife.
