Hotels in Singapore’s Orchard Road

Orchard Road is Singapore’s hotbed when it comes to shopping and entertainment. That’s why locals and tourists keep flocking to Orchard and its surrounding areas. That is also why there are a lot of hotels located within the vicinity of this major attraction.

Nestled deep in the central business district of Singapore, Orchard Road is a veritable hive of activity. With all the people, including tourists and vacationers, then there is also a big demand for hotel accommodations.

One of the most notable hotels in the vicinity of the Orchard area is the Goodwood Park Hotel, built in 1900. Considered one of the finest hotels in Asia, the hotel retained its distinctive periodic architecture even after renovation. This Singapore hotel along Scotts Road is known for its 19th century architecture, characterized by a High Victorian style exemplified by turrets and the hotel’s pinnacle tower.

Certainly, there are a lot of other noteworthy hotels in the area, especially since there is a lot of activity centered in Orchard. You’ve got the Holiday Inn Park View Singapore, the Sheraton Towers Singapore, the Royal Plaza on Scotts Singapore, and The Regent Singapore, to name a few.

There’s also one notable hostel in the area, namely Habitat Hostels Singapore. All of these hotels offer classy accommodations at the right price, with the benefit of proximity to the main attractions of the area.

Speaking of main attraction, much of the hustle and bustle in and around Singapore’s Orchard area involves shopping, of course. No trip to Orchard can be complete without at least taking home a few paper bags’ worth of shopping items. There’s a plethora of shopping malls that dot the vicinity.

You go from TANGS, the first notable shop in Orchard that was founded way back in 1934, to the new Orchard Central, which opened just last July 2nd and is incidentally Singapore’s first and tallest vertical mall. And there are at least three new shopping malls set to open in the near future.

If you stay in one of the hotels scattered around Orchard Road, you won’t have a shortage of sights to see. One of the most famous landmarks of the country is located at the southern end of Orchard Road: Istana Singapore, the official residence of Singapore’s president. The Singapore Botanic Gardens are over to the other end of the road.

Getting around the area shouldn’t be much of a problem for visitors to the central business district of Singapore. Public bus and taxi services are widely available in the area, and there is extensive private vehicle access leading into Orchard. Additionally, there are three major Mass Rapid Transit stations: Orchard, Dhoby Ghaut, and Somerset.

There’s basically a lot of options for you should you choose to stay in one of the many hotels at Orchard Road. After a long, busy day shopping around or making memories in various landmarks and locations, it’s nice to know that travelers always have somewhere to go to so that they can rest their tired feet and regain the strength in their bodies for another busy day in the Orchard. That’s what hotels in Orchard Road are-a veritable spring of life for tourists and businessmen alike.
