Scuba diving enthusiasts will find great diving spots at Tumlaben and Padang Bai to the east of the, Bali, Menjangan Island to the northwest and Nusa Penida in the South. Bali has some of the world’s best coral reefs and there are many reputable diving centres around the island.
For the outdoor types Bali is a great place to explore. As a volcanic island, it is green and lush, and the beaches turn into to countryside covered in paddy fields. These lie at the foot of Bali’s mountains, dominated by the huge but dormant Mount Agung. Anyone interested in seeing an easily accessible active volcano can climb the smouldering Mount Batur in less than two hours.
