Experience Breathtaking Beauty on the Great Ocean Road
If you are in Australia and looking for breathtaking beauty and the chance to spot native Australian wildlife, then look no further than the Great Ocean Road. It follows the coastline of the Southern Ocean that goes from Geelong to Portland.
The Great Ocean Road is Australia’s most valuable heritage and stretches at a length of 243 km along the south-eastern coast of the country between the Victorian cities of Torquay and Warrnambool. It is a solitary dedication to the casualties of World War 1.
Along the way, your senses will be treated to all kinds of natural beauty – from surf beaches with golden sands to shipwrecks, and national parks rainforests, from mountain ranges and whale lookouts to the towering Twelve Apostles that jut out of the water with rugged elegance. The famous ‘Bells beach’ with its glorifying charm tantalizes the spirit of a person along with the beautiful scenery of the ‘Otways rainforest’ and the huge rock formation at ‘Port Campbell National Park’.
Check out old volcanoes, rugged coastlines and breathtaking waterfalls, or swim, surf or kayak along the way. Whatever you are looking for in an adventure, whether it be a peaceful drive loaded with amazing scenery and the chance to catch a glimpse of wildlife or the chance to kayak and surf surrounded by natural beauty, the Great Ocean Road is the place for you.
Of course, there are other attractions that can draw you to the place as well and one of these is chocolates. As a self-confessed chocoholic, I could resist but visit one of renown chocolate makers in the area. With its owner awarded the second prize for Royal Melbourne Show for Hand-Made Chocolates in 2006, the Moorabool Valley Chocolate is where you can find chocolates minus the preservatives.
Here, your eyes will grow wide with the select choice of chocolate bars, truffles, fruit and nut clusters and pralines. I, myself, was absolutely amazed by everything that I had to have one of each to satisfy my curiosity on how they tasted. They were absolute heaven to the taste buds, as they melted in the mouth in an absolutely delectable way. And, as I said, the best thing about these chocolates is that because they don’t have any preservatives, they are all natural. So, you can be assured that they are healthier than any chocolates you can buy commercially. Of course, this also means that you can’t store them for long, but what chocoholic stores chocolates for a long period of time. I’m sure that’s not me.
