The Iolani Palace in King and Richard Street is another Honolulu tourist attraction that you should visit. It was built by King Kalakaua and has been fully restored. The Royal Hawaiian Hotel is one of the most important landmark of Honolulu. It is just more than a hotel. It is fondly called as the “Pink Palace of the Pacific”. It offers a spectacular view of the beach. The two mile stretch of coast is a hub of tourist interest and restaurants. It also offers a host of water sports experience and canoeing, surfing, and snorkeling experience. The tropical aura is very very alive here. It is one of the best place to soak up the sand. The canoe rides are a must. The beach has some extra facilities like lifeguards, phone, shower, and restrooms.
The Queen Emma Summer palace, a white colonial mansion which was built in 1848, was inhabited by King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma. It houses the original koa furniture and the wedding dress of the queen. A Gothic carved cabinet presented by Queen Victoria to the Royal couple is the most valuable thing in the palace. Just a short drive from Waikiki beach will take you to the picturesque Diamond Head Crater. It is well a mix of all- city, nature and adventure. The Windward Oahu is a beautiful place and you can rest here for a picnic or a quite lunch. If you are of the adventurous kind take the Oahu bike tour. You can also camp in the wonderful surrounding of Oahu. Camping permits are available easily from the Satellite City Halls on Oahu. However some camp sites are available only on the weekends.
