A Holiday Exploring Australia

A holiday in Australia has a lot to offer the holidaymaker and is a popular choice for many. An often popular choice people make is a holiday that allows them to explore a wide area of Australia so that they can experience the wide variety of offerings. Australia is the world’s largest island as well as the world’s smallest continent and is renowned for its open and friendly atmosphere.

Sydney is a regular choice of destination; the city is the financial hub for the whole of Australia and has an amazing iconic skyline, but this is not all that Sydney has to offer. Attractions include the Sydney Opera House, The Harbour Bridge and the most famous Sydney Beach that is Bondi Beach. Popular activities at Bondi beach are surfing, swimming and relaxing in the glorious Australian sun while lying on its pristine golden sands. Sydney is also popular for whale watching as Humpback whales pass the area on their migration path between April and December. The whales can be spotted from cliff tops and look out points, and there are boat tours available too.

Queensland is also a popular tourism area; its gold coast has five major amusement parks including Seaworld, Dreamworld and Movie World. Queensland is home to the Great Barrier Reef, the reef is popular for tourists looking to enjoy scuba diving and snorkelling. The reef is also popular for tourists visiting the reef on a variety of boat tours including glass bottomed boats. The reef can also be seen from the air on helicopter tours. Queensland is also home to the Daintree Rainforest. The rainforest is home to a diverse range of wildlife including over 12000 types of insect and over 400 species of birds. Visitors can sample the delights of the rainforest on foot or by river cruise. A river cruise will allow you to see the crocodiles, birds and sometimes tree snakes.

Travellers looking to experience the more quiet side of Australia should head to Western Australia. The region offers many opportunities to wander off of the beaten track. It is possible to explore the region by 4 wheel drive vehicle on some holidays, allowing you to experience the aboriginal culture of the Mitchell Plateau or explore the Purnululu National Park. Sights along the way on many of the exploration holidays include a great amount of views of Gorges and waterfalls and a plethora of the Australian diverse wildlife. The Australian outback is sure to delight the budding explorer.
